ThesuccessofTheoldmanandthesealiesmostinitsperfectdisplay--thegraceunderpressure.whichisaveryimportantqualityofSantiago.Thequalityiscomposedoftwodements:pressureandgrace.Pressureisthepremise,onlyunderpressurecanone‘sgracefuldemeanordisplay.

Santiago%commitmenttosailingoutfurtherthananyfishermanhadbeforetestifiedhisconfidencetothedepth.Italsoshowedhisconfidencetochangehisbadluck,becauseheclearlyknewwhathewasbornfor.Yes,hewasbornfortheconqueringofthesea.Everythingabouthimwasoldexcepthiseyesandtheywerethesamecolorastheseaandwerecheerfulandundefeated.Weallknowthateyesarethewindowsofone7ssou1.Itmeanstheoldman''''sheartorsoulisinconvincible.Inordertoprotecthisdignity,hefinallysummarizedthefamousmotto“Manisnotmadefordefeat.Amancanbedestroyedbutnotdefeated”.
